I don't want to see Buffy be a side character, ever. Like, give her a family, have her be a single, childless badass, whatever but Buffy needs to be front and center. I'd like some of the BTVS writers back (obviously not Joss, but Tim and Marti...)
I *think* the article said SMG would be "recurring", which I don't love. But I understand her possibly not wanting to commit to a full-time role on a new show. And IA that it would be marvelous if Tim and Marti returned.
And I want the characters I used to love back. Like somehow, I wanna see Anya, Cordy, and Willow again. Dru and Darla. Spike and Angel. Giles and Wes. Dawn and Tara. Xander (I am open to a recast here, as I understand the insurance issues plus SMG refuses to be in a room w/ him).
For me, that would be a "yes please!" to Anya, Cordy, Willow (definitely Willow--I'd like to think that she and Buffy remained close friends all these years later if they choose to make OG Buffy the main focus), Giles, Wes (I'm biased here though as I adore Alexis Denisof), Dawn, Tara and Xander. I knew Nicholas Brenden became a hot mess after the show concluded (during as well???) but I didn't know SMG refuses to be anywhere near him. Do you know why? Anyways, I think if Willow comes back, you have to bring Xander back...and yes, a recast would be acceptable to me. I would add Oz to the "yes please!" list. I'm indifferent to Dru and Darla, am on the fence about whether I'd want Angel to return and am actively rooting for Spike NOT to, even though I like James Marsters just fine. I absolutely hated Spike from season 5 through most of season 7 and hated even more his "relationship" with Buffy (and don't get me started on how mad I was that Spike showed up in season 5 of the show Angel <g>).
I'm willing to give them a 50/50 split btwn new generation and our Buffy family.
As would I.
