from early January, and I picked this week.
Then the LA fires occurred, and we had to postpone everything 2 or 3 weeks. Our lobby day was moved up to next week, and the volunteer training sessions were this week.
Sac County is really easy. Most of the time you are on standby, you call in every day after 5, and the full week passes with no call in, and you are done.
This week, they waited until *today* to call my group in. Then we get there and they're telling us - will you be able to return next week.
I said nope, but the clerk understood I was going to take a chance and see if I don't get called into a courtroom. If I did and had to stay on beyond today, I'd postpone again. They are very flexible.
My educated guess that I'd be dismissed before noon was right. I sat around for 3 hours - and then they told our groups were done, and thanked us for our service.
Yaaaaas. Nice.
