write for her, which caused a lot of people to find the character annoying. They wrote Dawn like an infant at a time when she would have been trying to grow up. She did great with what they gave her, but they never really gave her anything other than "Buffy's little sister with an inferiority complex.", Everything she did after was fabulous.
She could out snark Leighton's Blair on GG and that takes more than some talent, she held her own with Kim in Ice Princess, and she was creepy AF in Criminal Minds.
I don't know if they were still close, but I remember Sarah Michelle Gellar seemed to really adore her, to the point where Freddie allegedly taught Michelle to drive. So sad.
