Because of the time jump of one year between seasons, and characters now scattered across various planets, these three episodes were fine but a bit slow. Lots of table setting.
BTW...Genevieve O'Reilly is my new girl crush. So elegant and beautiful. Lots of scenes with her all dressed up for her 13 yo daughter's wedding to another 13 yo, which is like yuck. All those scenes of the multi-day celebration were exquisitely filmed and shot. As a period piece fan, the very British nobility dialogue was amusing. Those scenes were my fave in Eps 1-3.
Back to the eps, and especially Ep 4...(we need to watch 5 and 6). This is where the action started. Lots going on...Cassian is fully committed to the Rebellion at this point and is pretty much the guy we saw in Rogue 1. His nonchalant attitude about Bix killing the rapist Nazi was just like his character in R1.
My big takeaway - because I am really shallow, is that Cassian and Bix did become a couple in the interim. So purty! I kept saying they were super purty, but they had been more like brother and sister before this. While on that Ag planet, she kept referring to him as her husband, which I thought was just her trying to put off that nasty POS officer who tried to rape her. But nope, they share a bed in their hideaway in Coruscant, and had a lovely going away scene (the hands! So sexy) before he ran off to Ghorman for his next mission.
Poor Bix. That attempted rape sent her over the edge. She's losing it :(
I feel badly for Siril. They chose a perfect actor for the role because he has a lot of range and can play people that evolve over time (see: Poldark). He seems almost tempted by the rebellion. He's rebellion-curious so to speak. And I think Dedra is just using him. Last season she seemed perturbed by his obsession with her, but now she's living with him? Well, at least she got his mother to start treating him like an adult. That was a great scene when Dedra put her in her place.
His mother is hilarious. We call her the Jewish Space Mother because boy, I know this type! LOL.
