In fact, I think part of his issue right now might be that he can only really win the PR battle on one continent -- and he does appear to have won it in the US. But he definitely hasn't won it in the countries that have his father on the money. The things that play really sell in the US land with a thud here.
Honestly, I wouldn't say he's won it here. He has a lot of online support. I've done all the royal things and badger my friends into royal celebrations; they really don't care b/c we aren't involved. Unless the UK gave him IPP status and we'd have to pay for him like he was a visiting royal. (no thank u).
It was double, equal billing. And his PR was much more relatable 2000s millenial fun guy, whom everyone enjoyed.
This has never been the case for us. They were not a duo. One was the future King. and one was the future Prince Andrew. At that point in time, that was not a horrific insult because people generally liked him fine.
See, here from my perspective...they were a duo. Then they were a trio. Then Meghan and it blew up so I can see both sides of "it was Meghan" or "Will/Kate were jealous of Meg". It's always been William&Harry -- Diana's boys.
But whether or not someone spelled out for him that eventually, when he married and had children, it would change, I couldn't say.
I feel confident in saying "yes, it was, absolutely and from birth." It is SO baked into the whole thing. I've understood how this works since I was five. He literally would have seen his uncles and aunt in that situation. Maybe he thought he'd be an Anne more than an Edward but still -- it was all around him.
Honestly, we don't get the royal thing objectively. We're all like well Ariel is the best princess...who cares who here sisters are lol We are Disney Princesses
Still, I believe that Meghan didn't know who Harry was as much as I believe Kate didn't have William's teen beat poster on her wall and Harry didn't know that Will and Kate get first, then him and Meghan. He certainly knew he was third and before his cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Oh, God. I forgot about saying she didn't know who he was. I generally am very neutral on her but that is hard to swallow.
Honestly, the amusement I've found from Kate and Meghan acting like they had no idea who Princess Diana's sons were, the most photographed woman in the world. Granted, Kate just said she didn't have his poster up, but I was a college freshmen when Di passed and I thought 15 year old William was a child. Had I been 16 or younger, I would have had his poster up. Chill Kate, it's fine.
