I really enjoyed Sunset Blvd Friday evening. All of the leads were great.

Nicole Scherzinger was phenomenal. I didn’t see the Glenn Close production so I can’t compare their performances or productions. Norma Desmond is a great role for any actress who is up to the challenge.

This production is apparently very different from previous productions and seems to be very polarizing. People seem to either love it or hate it. I loved it. There are no elaborate costumes. The entire cast is dressed in black and white. NS was barefoot in a black slip dress for the whole play. There were also no elaborate sets. It was all smoke and screens and lighting and shadows to invoke the black & white world of 1950s Hollywood film.

We had great seats in the orchestra (Row P, Center). Our ticket price because we won the lottery was $40. We checked to see how much our exact seats would have been if we wanted to buy them full-price and it was $215. 😳
