Noisy little buggers when they are either not in an urban environment (ie Mendocino) or when I guess it's quiet in the area. Recently I heard both singing away on a side street near the Sac River levee. Tres adorable.
OMG, Scrub Jays are so funny. Yapping, noisy CORVIDs. Although right now they have lot of competition because the House Finches are pretty much dominating our part of Greenhaven and even where I work in downtown. Yapping and singing all day long.
Soon, the Lesser Goldfinches will take over, and for a time, very silly Cooper's Hawks. Their young uns seem to not understand that if you keep making noise all over Seymour Parkway, your prey will simply hide, and you go hungry. And mommy and daddy ain't feeding you, so grow up! But right now, there is some Red Shoulder Hawk making a spectacle of himself. Likely a youth.
