Russian mobster for six months in 2008 and, no doubt, an enemy of Sonny’s. Well, the Ukrainian actor who played him, Ilia Voltok, was the lead in an Off-Off Broadway play I saw in NYC’s East Village on Saturday night. He played painter Marc Chagall during the period he was mourning the death of the love of his life, Bella, who was his wife and muse for decades and who appears flying in many of his paintings. It was at a small, intimate theater that has produced a lot of new plays by new playwrights for over 50 years. Playwrights like Sam Shepard and Harvey Fierstein got their start at this theater.
Anyway, the actor, Ilia Voltok, was very good and very charming. A friend of mine had a small role in the play so I got to meet the cast. He’s done a lot of things besides his brief stint on GH. Here’s his filmography:
