eating lots of great fresh seafood (I swim with them during the day and eat them at night!), drinking margaritas and meeting so many fun people. I swear that this island attracts kindred spirits. Once again, I’m not reading as much as I planned because I’m meeting so many people to hang out with. There’s nothing like good conversation in person!
The weather has been perfect; hot but perfect (mid 80s and sunny; not one drop of rain so far and no rain predicted for the upcoming week). I’m mostly staying unplugged. The electronic devices stay in the room and are used minimally. I’m staying right on the beach but my phone does not go to the beach with me.
Today I’m getting an intentionally slow start. Slept in and ate a late breakfast on the patio to take a break from the sun. Will hit the beach mid-afternoon until sunset today. We face west so we’ve been seeing gorgeous sunsets every day and mostly not getting out to dinner until between 8 and 10pm. World class beach and foodie paradise of restaurants all within walking difference.
Went further down island via taxi for dinner last night, struck up a good conversation with the people in the table next to us. They turned out to own a condo and live here half the year (the other half in Santa Cruz, CA) and they had a golf cart and offered to drive us “home”.
I do not want to come home to the US. Glad I still have another week here.
