That was a key thing because I hate moving and plan to stay in the house forever. When I refinanced it years ago when rates were dropping fairly often, I was asked, "How long do you plan to be in the house?" I said, "Depends on how long it takes for someone to find my body."

Make sure there's room (in the budget and in physical space) to upgrade later, but it's gotta have good bones.
