which is something that is far from certain. Movie theaters could easily soon become as rare as pay phone booths. I watch plenty of movies at home but do not want to watch all movies from my couch.
That said, to be fair, my two main movie theaters in Brooklyn have reasonable ticket prices. My neighborhood theater has senior rates of $7 for anyone over 60 for all screenings (not just matinees or weekdays). My other theater is an arts complex in downtown Brooklyn. I have a membership there so tix for movies are half-price ($8.50) for all screenings. If I had to pay $17 I would go to movie theaters much less often. In Manhattan it’s even worse. Tix there are $22 or more. I rarely see a movie at a theater in Manhattan anymore because it’s ridiculously expensive.
