eventually happen?
small coming-of-age and mother daughter story but I especially remembered liking Julianne Nicholson’s performance in it. I had just seen and liked her in Mare of Eastown a few months prior. Janet Planet was not big on plot.
Have you seen A24’s A Ghost Story? That’s another one that haunted me (pun intended) for weeks.
I have not. I will check that one out.
I could not get through Wicked. I loved the book and feel sure I would love the stage production, but movies with lots of singing don’t work for me. There are some classic musical movies I will still watch, mostly for nostalgia I think, but modern musicals fall flat for me.
I loved the novel too and enjoyed part one of the movie (although I do have issues with stretching it into two long movies. I have not seen the Broadway musical, mostly because it is too expensive. If I ever get the opportunity to see it for a reasonable price, I’ll happily go. But if you couldn’t get through the first Wicked movie, why are you sure you’d love the Broadway musical? Do you generally like modern musical stage productions but not their movie versions?
