In warmer weather, Dad and I--like most of our neighbors--leave our garage door up, as long as one of us is home. Tonight after dinner, I went out for my usual walk around the block, though I decided tonight to do one lap on foot and two on my bicycle instead of two on foot and one on the bike (for a total of three miles). As I walked into the garage to retrieve my bicycle, I heard a tremendous clatter coming from the back corner. I knew it wasn't Dad--I would've been able to see him--but I wasn't sure what could be making the noise. Then I looked over to where we have a side door into the garage; the door is closed and there was a freakin' squirrel somehow clinging to the wood halfway up. He was panicking and trying to get down, so I slowly backed out of the garage and gave him room to come rocketing out of there and back to the shrubbery that forms part of the property line between our longtime neighbors and us.
I cannot think of a single thing in the garage that would've attracted a squirrel. Maybe he was just curious?
