The Phoenician Scheme. Wes Anderson's latest was all style and no substance. It had amazing cinematography and great performances from the actor, but...the script (which he wrote, of course) was just not the best. (Library DVD)
Better Off Dead. 1980s not quite John Hughes level teen comedy starring John Cusack. It was decent--I appreciated the absurd bits and the dark comedy, but some of it was a mess too. (HBO Max)
Nadie Nos Mira Argentine film about a former telenovela actor trying to make it in New York as an actor but doesn't have the "Latino look" (he's blond) and his English is heavily accented and deals with a lot of xenophobia. It's more a slice of life film about his experiences (which were about the director's own experiences). I enjoyed it. (Kanopy)
Not sure what I'll watch tonight and tomorrow. So many movies, so little time.
