access all my usual sites. The Google homepage came up immediately. I could watch videos on YouTube. I could access my antiquated AOL email. There's a game--Bubble Shooter--that I have bookmarked that I no longer recall what website it was but it came up just fine. But I couldn't get on Soapzone or SZ trivia or Pogo (another gaming site) or almost anything else. I didn't think much about it; I just logged off and watched TV till I went to bed*. But this morning, while scrolling through stories on my phone, I noticed once again, a few of the websites weren't coming up (such as articles on Newsweek). Dad couldn't access certain sites either. After a bit of troubleshooting, I...turned the router off and back on. Problem solved (for now, at least). Technology is weird...

* A bit of good news for a change...I had a rare day off yesterday so I made a near-last minute decision to participate in a flea market in my town that's held every year at the <town name> historical society. I've been to the flea market before; it's a combination craft show, antique market and garage sale, and it's always well attended. The cost of a "table", or more accurately, a site since you have to provide your own table, was $45, which was pretty reasonable (tables often go for $75 and up). Bff and good church friend joined me; gcf brought the bracelets she makes plus some homemade magnets and a few things from her house and bff, who arrived a few hours late because her dog got sprayed by a skunk that morning (luckily, it was just a glancing blow) brought the hair barrettes and pins she makes with fake flowers. I brought my pour paintings and bracelets, plus some earrings I'd made from Halloween charms, and I also dug a few things out of the attic. The day was stupid hot but we were reasonably comfortable under the canopy I brought, and bff brought lemonade so we stayed hydrated. It was a pretty good crowd, and we enjoyed chatting with one another. Poor bff didn't sell a thing but gcf sold some bracelets, a couple water bottles she'd never used and a handful of books. I don't recall selling any bracelets, and I know I didn't sell any pour paintings but the Halloween earrings went like crazy, plus I sold most of what I put on the "garage sale" table. I also sold a lot of my non-homemade jewelry, with everything priced at $1. One sweet young woman really wanted a green beaded necklace from the box holding all the non-homemade jewelry but it had gotten entangled with a few other pieces. I told her she could take the whole tangled mess for $1 and she was so happy, she couldn't stop thanking me. I wound up making about $80...enough to recoup the cost of the table (I didn't charge bff a cent since she sold nothing, and I wasn't going to charge gcf since she only sold about $25 worth of stuff, but she insisted on giving me $5, which was sweet of her. It was a nice day but a looooong one; after not getting enough sleep the night before (up late loading stuff into the car, then not being able to fall asleep because I was dwelling on what happened at work, and then I had to be up at 6:00 AM so we could get to the flea market for set up by 6:45) and then lugging heavy tables and a canopy back and forth from the site, plus just being outside on a muggy 90° day, I was tired by suppertime and asleep in the recliner by 9:30 PM <g>.
