My parish had an ice cream social after the Life Teen Mass this evening. Great turn out. It was to mark the ordination of our seminarian. We share him with another parish, but he's really ours.
He read the gospel reading at mass and gave the homily (things he can do now that he's been ordained a deacon) and blessed the new youth wing. The walk through of the wing was nice. I asked if they'd considered having a cooking option instead of using the commercial kitchen...since I still have that gas range and a microwave oven with vent that goes over it. Not interested. When we add the even newer room for the laundry, I may put it in the current new room. That'll teach everyone.
I had a great time as the ice cream social. We should have some kind of social event with food at least once a quarter, imo.
