She's had it tough - PTSD from two alcoholic parents and a mother who rejected her - and hasn't done much with her life because of depression and just wanting to hide out from the world. She literally curled up into a ball circa 1995 and didn't emerge from that rut until the last couple of years.
She was my roommate when I was in grad school at USC - she was a junior. We hit it off immediately.
We've spoken twice this week - it's like no time has passed. She's such an absolute angel. I also gave her a reference for her new job as a medical concierge and described how she handled a crisis - the 1994 Northridge Earthquake - by calmly talking me through what to do and looking out for ME while she was falling apart inside. When the going got tough, she turned to being the helper and the caregiver. She already has the job but I hope my description of her actions that day show how well-suited she is for this position.
I've missed myTerri so very much. I am so glad we are back in touch.
she may be coming to visit next year. I hope so. Marty is also really happy that she may be coming over. He also adored her and is fond of her.
