The company did a walkthrough...then dropped off the face of the earth. I followed up about a month later (no big rush), they apologized, and e-mailed me a proposal. My printer glitched, so I couldn't print, sign, and scan the proposal, but I replied to their e-mail that I accepted their proposal.

SILENCE

Monday, I followed up with a phone call to ask about scheduling. How about Wednesday? Only two days away! Today was the installation.

They arrived a few minutes late, but worked very efficiently. They installed two ceiling fans under the cover of the patio and put out five motion-activated lights on the edges of the patio. The fans had bulbs but the motion-activated lights did not. I had some LED lights that have adjustable brightness. We decided on 4500k lumens (COOL), not yellow or that ugly, stark blue.

They finished installing all the lights and cleaned up the space and left around 2:00. Not bad. They reconnected the outlet (they switched out the GFCI outlet that had been installed by the contractor I've told people I'd NEVER use again because it looked worn to them) and plugged back in the freezer...the one with the quarter cow minus one pound of ground beef.

I secured the gates and let the dogs back outside, then started playing text tag with my landscaper to try to force him to take my partial payment for the job he's supposed to start next week. He texted that he'd be at the house to pick up the check around 5pm, but sent a later text that I missed saying he was on his way. Rain had altered his plans.

He said he might not start the project until Tuesday or Wednesday because of rain delays on the other job. It's gonna be GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looking forward to testing the lights this evening. I need to order two sets of ceiling fan pull chains. One has a light bulb on the end and the other has a little fan.

Tomorrow is a plumbing day! The same plumber who ran a water line from one side of the house to the other will install the sink and composting/separating unit in the new room and will look at the sink situation in my kitchen.
