I treated myself to lunch at Arthur Treacher's and a 1:00 showing of Downton Abbey at Cedar Lee theater, which is my preferred theater. It's a bit of a pain to get down there, and that particular section of Cleveland Heights is both crowded and a bit chaotic due to construction and road projects, but it's worth the aggravation. The AT, which is just around the corner from the theater, is one of only three AT's left in the world (strangely, the other two are also in NE Ohio), and it's takeout only. I couldn't remember if you got a drink with the original combo meal, so I brought my own. You *do* get a drink as well, but they forgot mine, possibly because they saw I was already carrying a drink. On the plus side, they gave me extra hush puppies, either accidentally or maybe to make up for not giving me a drink. I very much enjoyed the movie; at first I thought I was going to get a private screening, but 3 pairs of ladies walked in later (and of course the pair that was latest arrived about 10 minutes into the movie, sat down next to me and then proceeded to whisper to one another for another 5 minutes before finally settling down). Anyways, as discussed in last month's movie post, it was a fitting end to the series...but I would actually love to see a sequel. Downton Abbey: the Next Generation, featuring a grown up George, Marigold, Sybbie and the rest.

After the movie, I walked down the street to an upscale patisserie and got a few pastries to go...though the sable sandwich didn't last long <g>. On the way home, I meandered through a few stores; one of those stores was Home Goods. I picked up a heavy metal tray to admire, not realizing there was some small, heavy object underneath it...I knocked the small heavy object off the shelf and it landed right atop my sandaled right foot. I spent some time considering whether I'd broken a bone. I'm pretty sure I didn't, but I have some swelling and I think I hit a nerve because the pain radiated up to my knee. I'm going to have a spectacular bruise tomorrow :-(
