And yep, that’s pricey. But yes, he can probably afford it. Starting salaries for new lawyers in top NYC firms are hovering around $250,000 and it sounds like they really wanted him, plus he is not technically “new” anymore, so he could very well be making more.
I saw some photos...it looked very nice but kind of small. I was telling Sis one of the things that amuses me the most about watching HGTV's "House Hunters" is what you get in different parts of the country for the same amount of money. Oh, and also perception...I've lived here basically my entire life except for the four years I was in college, so of course my house and yard are my "norm". When I first started watching HH, some city dweller would look at a house in the near suburbs and say "Oh wow...look at this HUGE yard!" and it would be a third of an acre. Maybe a quarter. Our house sits on a full acre of land, and most of that land is the backyard, so I'm staring at what looks like a postage stamp sized lawn thinking "that's 'HUGE'?" And then realizing that compared to what the prospective buyer is used to, it possibly is.
Sis' main comments on the pictures Nephew sent were "Really? He thinks that's a big closet?". And I'm thinking well no, not compared to what he grew up with but compared to other places in NYC? Absolutely <g>. I still remember the only one of my niece's many NYC apartments that I got to see...it had a small kitchen, a surprisingly (for NYC) living room and a bedroom that literally only could fit her twin bed in it. She had to store her clothes in a wardrobe in the living room...I'm sure she would've appreciated having ANY closet in her bedroom.
I will always think of Brooklyn Heights as the place Patty lived on the Patty Duke Show. Yes, I am a dinosaur. 🦖
Hee! I vaguely remember seeing a few episodes of TPDS in reruns but it was never my favorite, so I could not have told you where it took place. Until Nephew rented this particular apartment, I didn't even know there WAS a Brooklyn Heights 😁
