I never did at my condo (got the dryer vent cleaned but not the ducts). I got an envelope full of ads the other day and I think there were 6 places for duct cleaning and I realized I've never done it, and I'm considering getting it done here, especially since after the a/c fiasco I'm pretty sure there wasn't a ton of maintenance done on some things.
I have no idea how much it costs on average.
Also set up with the painter to paint my accent wall, outside door trim, and the family room. $1100. 😬 Seems a little high but the family room is going to be a LOT of work - the paint colors there now are horrible so it's going to need at least a coat of primer, plus he's going to be painting the baseboards and have to get around the carpet for those. Plus it's two colors, I decided a light green for the top and a darker green for the chair rail and lower part of the wall. Fingers crossed it looks good once it's done! I can't imagine it could be worse than what's there now though!!!!
Once that's painted I'm looking at furniture for the room, all we have in there now is a couch, the tv stand, and a couple pieces from our old place that I think I may get rid of. One is a bookcase that doesn't match anything (maybe use it in a different room) and a cabinet for CDs/DVDs, but we got rid of all the CD cases years ago and the DVD cases when we moved (put the ones we kept in binders instead). It's a nice piece of furniture but we just don't have much use for it, the shelves aren't wide enough for most books.
