I'd rather hear no Southern accent than a bad Southern accent.
Same, same, same. Whenever a show is set in the South, I immediately start bracing for the terrible accents. And even those actors from the south are made to over exaggerate it at times.
Speaking of accents, I started watching the new series on PBS "Maigret". I really like it a lot but the show is set in Paris and centers around a a French detective but all the cast are British and speak English with a British accent. That is such a choice to me. Do they think Americans are just dumb and can't tell the difference between a French accent and a British one? And why hasn't anyone spoken French once in a series set in Paris France? 🤣🤣🤣
