order is free.
I'm getting potting soil delivered, because I'm going to put two galvanized 6x3 feet planters out for my garden. So far I have the plants (that reminds me I need to water them lol) and the planters are coming on Thursday. So I had to figure out how much soil I needed (spoiler alert, it's a LOT) and determined I needed 14 cubic feet (or 14 bags? I think they're 2 cu feet each so I guess 28 cu ft). Anyway, the 14 bags is $139 pre tax and they would charge me $35 delivery. But when I changed it to 10 bags, the delivery was free. 😑
I'm going to see if I need more (probably) and if so I can just pick up the 4 bags myself. I just couldn't fit 14 bags in my vehicle without making multiple trips.
So weird though!!!!
I also just realized I need rocks (for the small planter I'm connecting my bee box to) and I forgot all about it. So that's my next purchase I guess.
I also have to figure out exactly where to plant my hydrangeas that I bought at Costco. I really really really REALLY want to put them on either side of the walkway closer to the door but our house faces south and apparently that's too much sun. So they need to be either east or west facing; the east side we don't really see but I can figure out some spots though I worry about them getting in the way if the electrical box or a/c unit needs to be worked on. On the west side, the area between the walkway and the house is too narrow so I can't put them there, and there's a spot in the corner that would work but I'm worried it will still be too much sun. The backyard is pretty shaded so I can't put them there really. *maybe* on either side of the garage door.
I also read about something called "dunk" to kill mosquitoes and yesterday made four dunk buckets and put them all around the backyard to kill those ****ers. Last summer was BRUTAL, they ate us alive. I bought a bat box we have to figure out how to put up, I'm thinking on the tall tree near the house - there are definitely bats living in the wooded area near me and I want them in my yard eating those damned mosquitoes.
