In S12, the Malory (and her on-screen and off screen partner)'s departure due to both actors unfortunate passing in real life (I love Jessica Walter and Lucille Bluth and thus Malory!)

They also nailed the finale. It wasn't perfect, but it was fitting. I read that they had a three-season arc planned for the new character they introduced in S14, but it was cancelled. So glad they were given a chance to do the last episode.
