My dogs get 1/2 an egg each day at dinner, so I need almost three dozen every month. I usually hard boil six at a time except if they break as they move around. If they break, the dogs get scrambled eggs, one egg in a small container at a time so I can divide the egg between the two dogs.

The rest of the eggs go into twelve packs (cardboard or Styrofoam). I cut the twelve packs in half, put two rubber bands around them to secure them, then put the half cartons in a box and drop off those eggs at the food bank. The food bank can give families six, twelve, eighteen, or twenty-four as they see fit.

Medium size eggs are on sale this week for $4.99 for five dozen! I plan to get some next week and repack them. Someone gave me about thirty or forty cardboard or Styrofoam cartons. I'm ahead!
