The van stops and picks Sonny up
The two men in black exited the van and inspected the damage. There was a large dent in the hood. Some blood could be seen on the windshield. Sonny groaned, drawing them to the gutter where he lay unable to get up.What happens next?
''Madame Bergman, we have struck a man. He lies injured in the street. What should we do?''
Alexis' mother, using sign language comanded them to carry the man to the van. ''We will take this man with us to the clinic.''
The men in black gently deposited Sonny in a gurney on the opposite side of Alexis. Kristin sat between them. She glanced over at the injured may to her left. He was semi-conscious and groaning.
Sonny was in significant pain yet he detected the scent of gardenias. Alexis, the air held the scent of Alexis. ''Alexis are you there?'' He tried to sit up, the pain from his cracked ribs forced him back.
Kristin's eyes widened in shock. This man knew her daughter and from the look on his face he cared for her.
