Sonny contemplates life without Carly

The last couple of days had put everything in perspective. Sonny thought Carly's death would have been more of a weight on him. But it came as kind of a relief. There was some sadness. He loved Carly and now she was gone. But then he realized there would be no more lies and deceit, no more betrayals. He'd spent all his time with Carly waiting for the other shoe to drop, for the next lie to come to light, for her next scheme to get him arrested.

He realized he was now back in control of his life. He began to look to the future and the future looked good. He had a daughter on the way. He wanted to be part of her life. He wanted to be part of her mother's life. He gazed down at Alexis and smiled. He reached for her hand and pressed his lips to her palm. She stirred. Her eyes fluttered and finally opened.

''Hey beautiful!'' Sonny smiled.

''Hey'' Alexis moved to sit up. ''Ooh!'' She reached for her abdomen. ''The baby!''

''The baby is fine. Everything's gonna be fine!''

''I don't think so!''
