To please all of Port Charles, he murders Courtney in her sleep. He does not even attempt to clean up the evidence because he knows that he has done something wonderful for all the residents of Port Charles.
Mac gives him an award for being a good semaritan.
He gladly accepts the award at a huge ceremony and notices Elizabeth in the group of spectators.
He walks up to her, ''I realize you were drunk when we spoke last. Obviously you would not stay with Rick after everything he's done. Please, let's give US another chance.''
Liz answers with:
