Ric lets Liz go in the interest of his assignment.
Ric trusts Liz with his secret plan to take down Sonny for the FBI.

What happens next?Ric looks at Liz in shock.
''Thats right, Liz, this man here raped me and now he is trying to blackmail me'' Carly said matter-of-factly.
''Is that true Ric?'' Liz asked, feeling a little queasy.
''You have to let me explain.'' Ric said.
''No, that's all I needed to hear.'' Liz ran out.
''I'll deal with you later.'' said Ric to Carly as he ran out to deal with Liz.
He met Liz at Kelly's and forced her upstairs with him to his room.
''Are you going to rape me too, now?''
''Are you kidding, I would never, never hurt you.'' Ric answered.
''But you would rape Carly?''
''I didn't rape Carly, I didn't even sleep with her. I can't tell you the details, I shouldn't have told you this much.'' Ric was obviously torn at the situation. As an FBI agent, confidentiality was key. But he never met anyone like Liz before and did not want to lose this opportunity at happiness. Then again, he made the concious choice years ago to focus on work, not his social life.
