“What?” Kristina choked on his ominous assertion.What happens next?
“Your thoughts,” Stefan clarified. “She’s been poisoning your mind against Nikolas all these years, pitting you against him in a battle for her affection. I know - she did the same to me. I was always striving to please her, yet never succeeded in outdoing my brother. You do not need her, Kristina. Your attachment to her keeps you under her control. Break it.”
“Kristina,” AJ drew her attention, staring at her with pure adoration in his gaze. “I love you. We can’t let Helena destroy us. Fight her. I need you…”
Stefan held up the diamond again. “Kristina…”
She turned to him, gazing into the sparkling facets of the chiseled gem. She recalled Helena’s so-called love, what she’d known since childhood as something so distant and icy-cold. When she came to Port Charles she met Alexis and Stefan and her perception of love grew into something softer and more sincere. Then she met AJ. His love was warm and comforting, tender and encompassing. It filled all of the dark and lonely places in her heart. Her soul cried out to reclaim that love.
“Your prince has come,” Stefan proclaimed once again.
