Courtney tells Penny she has to tell Sonny everything
What happens next?He'll be angry Penny but he won't hurt you. I promise I'll stay with you and make sure it comes out allright. Penny agree and they go tell Sonny. He looks at Courtney and sees that she loves her friend and knows killing her would ruin the relationship he had built with Courtney. So he forgives her but let's her know he's keeping a watch on her from now on.
