All My Children Update for Wednesday, 2-Jan-2002

Vanessa is pleased when she sees that Mateo has no idea that she is Proteus. She vows revenge on him for double-crossing her and then gets his sympathy when she fake crys. Mateo becomes worried and confused about Haley and Lorenzo when she learns that they have not been harmed yet. Later Greenlee yells at Vanessa not knowing who she really is.
As David gets worse by the minute, he explains to "Dixie" who is really Anna, how he tried a medication on himself to see if it worked to save Dixie from a genetic deadly disaese that she probably had. He also explained how he tried it on Roger but Roger messed it up and Anna reliezes that David is not Proteus. David begs "Dixie" to forgive him saying he will die if she doesn't and as Anna hesitates he gets worse.
At the Crystal Ball Jamie, Sam, Pheboe and Maddie work together in a plan to get Edmund and Brooke back together. After the kids and Pheboe manage to clear the room, Brooke and Edmund relieze they are alone and share a dance. Later Brooke and Edmund head upstairs and begin to make love.
In the tack room Mia and Jake chat and Jake gives Mia a small kitten. They later find romance as they kiss.
