All My Children Update for Thursday, 21-Jul-2005

Tad considers hiring Amanda. But Aiden refuses to. Tad admits to her that AIden has final say. But she keeps telling them that she could be the best agent they could ever have.

At Sam's parents' old, abandoned house, Lily can hear something from outside and screams.

Dani comes by to see Reggie. He doesn't want to talk to her. He tells her he doesn't want to hear her explanation for why she slept with Josh. He and his family have some real problems and she and Josh don't really matter.

Zach returns to the hotel after discovering Ryan and helping him hide from everybody. Erica, Jack, Kendall and Greenlee can tell that he probably found something out and ask him what it is.

Wouldn't you know that right outside the room where Zach has locked Ryan, Ethan and Simone happen to walk by and hear something. They then know that somebody is locked inside.

Zach hears Greenlee talking about Ryan beating the odds and how much he has to live for. But he also remembers witnessing RYan's tantrum after finding out that Greenlee is pregnant and RYan's telling him that he can not be in Greenlee's or the baby's life. ANd he tells them that nothing has been found out and they will continue to search for Ryan.

Ryan is able to overhear Simone telling Ethan how devastating it must be for Greenlee to lose two different loves of her life. SHe tells him that she would do anything to bring Ryan back if she could and all Greenlee needs in her life is him. RYan puts his ear to the door and hears that.

Dani tells Reggie that she never stopped loving him and realizes he has good reason to be furious. He tells her that there is no point in discussing it further. He tells her that maybe he should thank her for sleeping with Josh. Because it brought him to the reality that there is nothing for the two of them. He asks her if she is just there to use him so he'll be there for her when Josh dumps her for another girl. She tells him she loves him. But he tells her he does not love her.

Tad tells Aiden that they might want to consider having Amanda working with them, even if she is inexperienced. He asks her some questions to "try" her, starting with if she's ever tailed anybody. SHe tells him that she discovered her ex boyfriend was gay and followed him a long distance and caught him without his ever finding out. AIden still does not want to listen.

Lily tells Sam that she saw something move. It was not a shadow or curtain blowing in the breeze. He tells her he will go upstairs and needs her to stay downstairs to look for clues on the stairs.

Greenlee looks at all the others and tells them she belives that they do not believe that Ryan survived. Jack admits that he believes it's highly unlikely. Zach tells her that the Ryan she lost was not the same man she married. She tells Zach he knows nothing about her husband and she loves RYan more today than she did when she married him. SHe protests to Zach that all he saw was what other people did to him. She tells everybody; Kendall, Erica, Jack and Zach--that they had no faith in Ryan. She breaks down telling them that she could have saved Ryan. They could have had a future together if they'd just had more time. Alone with Kendall, Zach asks Kendall if she thinks that Greenlee was right.

Ethan tells Simone that Greenlee is not alone. SHe has Simone, Kendall, her family. Many people to catch her if she falls. But Simone tells him she could not imagine loving anybody the way Greenlee loved Ryan. SHe tells him Ryan was merely confused with his father and brothers and everything. But he tells her that they saw him at the fight club and noticed his refusal to have a child. Simone says that she may have had her doubts that she did the right thing in helping Greenlee to get pregnant. But now she thanks God that she did. Just then, RYan makes some noise and Ethan tells Simone he's going to call security.

Amanda tells AIden she never meant to be scary or mean to Lily. She thinks it's sweet the way he looks out for her. Just then, Tad enters and hearing her talking about Lily, he asks why Sam is not back with his burrito. He then knows he's been scammed by Sam and given him $20 for nothing. Amanda asks if he wants her to track down Sam.

Reggie tells Dani that he can no longer believe much of what she tells him. He asks her what she believes they had in the first place if she could sleep with Josh. She asks if they are really done without any possibility of even a second chance. He asks her if Josh knows that she's asking for one. SHe then goes out the door, telling him she will not bother him. Reggie then gets a call from Tad asking if Lily is with him.

Sam returns from upstairs and informs Lily that he did not see anybody but discovered his dad's shirt and knows it was not on the stairs before. SHe suggests that perhaps it could mean that his dad is coming back. He tells her his dad is dead and only fictional stories have people coming back from the dead. He tells her that they only feed that story to gullible idiots so that they will see the movie or buy the book. She asks him if he thinks she is a gullible idiot.

Jack admits to Erica that he has not called Mary Smythe about what's happened to Greenlee and knows it's for the best. She tells him she'd like him to concentrate on his daughter. She says she will go and he must call her if he needs her. ALone with Kendall, Zach asks Kendall again if she really belives that Greenlee could have saved Ryan. Kendall admits that after what heppend last night and the fact that Greenlee could not face the truth, it's possible that she could not have saved him. But she considers that with a love like they had, it might have been able to get them through anything. She tells him with after what Ryan did after she gave him a baby, he might be beyond saving. And if he'd lived and proven that she could not have saved him, it would have killed her. ANd she concludes it might be better for Greenlee that Ryan is gone. He tells her he agrees and goes out the door.

At the "hiding place", a security guard attempts to unlock the door for Ethan and Simone. Right then Zach appears and tells them he wants them out of there. He just has some rat traps in his shed. WHen Ethan and Simone leave, he goes in and Ryan grabs him by the collar. Zach agrees with Ryan that it might be better for Greenlee to grieve him for a few years than it would be to have her living a lie for the rest of her life. Ryan tells Zach that his plans are to get as far away from here as possible. He tells Zach that he wants to be dead. Zach, then, suggests, doing it the right way.

Greenlee lays down on the hotel bed and tells Zach that she'd like to stay there because it was the last place where she got to be with Ryan.

Sam tells Lily he believes she is very brilliant. But he does not believe that dead people come back as ghosts. Just then, Tad enters. Lily tells him that he must not be a ghost. Tad tells Sam that he is grounded. He tells Sam he realizes that maybe his behavior is "karmic payback" to Tad for what he did to his father when he was Sam's age. Lily tells Tad that parents make rules in order to control kids. She remembers what Sam told her. Just then, Reggie walks in and tells Sam he's angry. Lily goes with Reggie while Tad deals with Sam. Sam tells Tad he does not know Lily. Tad says he does know her father, ex-District Attorney and her brother. sam protests that Lily is not like other girls. She is honest. She is not common and shallow. But Tad tells Sam that he will not ever take advantage of Lily. Jack will cut him off at the knees and so will he. Sam protests that he cares about Lily. Tad tells Sam that he could really share a lot with him about being a teenage boy.

WHen Reggie and Lily get home, he tells her he does not understand how society dubs guys as after one thing. But girls want that same thing also. She tells him that everybody breaks the rules. He does also. She tells him he cannot yell at her. He's not her father. He cannot boss her around or interfere in her life.

Zach reminds Ryan that no matter where he goes, somebody might find him. And he asks him what would happen if Greenlee finds out that the man she loved wanted her to believe he was dead. Ryan tells her the very reason he's going away is because he does not want to give her another reason to cry.

Simone informs Kendall about the confrontation she and Ethan had with Zach outside of some secretive shed. Kendall seems very interested in the shed.

The mysterious shirt of Edmund's is on the stairway of his abaonded house when somebody moves it.

WHen Jack returns to Reggie they decide they must tell Lily what happened to Greenlee.

Erica returns to her empty office and is surprised to see Dr. Madden.

Greenlee falls asleep and has a vision of Ryan returning to her. But she finds out it was only a dream and she breaks out crying. Simone comes into her room and holds Greenlee in her arms.

Kendall comes by the shed and asks Zach what is going on and what he is hiding.
