All My Children Update for Tuesday, 2-Aug-2005

Aiden still does not trust Amanda as far as he can throw her. But Tad is considering hiring her to work with them.

Amanda still plays the nice act to Babe, telling her that she shouldn’t break up with Jamie if Dixie fails to persuade JR to let up. But Babe tells her that she does plan to cut Jamie loose if it’s the only way he can pursue his dream to be a doctor and get Phoebe’s money. Amanda indicates to Babe (acting like her friend who’s looking out for her) that Dixie cannot be trusted. Hearing that, Babe goes and talks to Tad, asking him if she and Jamie can count on Dixie to help them. Tad assures Babe that Dixie loves and cares for Jamie and they can trust her. She tells Tad that his son's happiness is all she cares about.

When JR finds out what happened at the bank, he’s ready to get Alfred in big trouble. He is very protective of his mother, knowing she could have gotten killed. Amanda attempts to poison JR’s mind against his mother, informing him that Dixie wants to help Babe and Jamie. Although he disagrees with her concern to help them, he refuses to turn on Dixie nor listen to Amanda.

Aiden seems to know that she's snuck out of the hospital, noticing his office has been trashed. It looks like she's been able to escape, going and finding JR. SHe tells him she's desperate for a job. At that point, AIden decides to hire Amanda.

Jack reveals to Erica that he is not ok about Greenlee having Ryan’s baby. She tells him he’s behaving just like she did when Bianca chose to have Michael Cambias’ baby. She learned how wrong that was when she met Miranda. So he must see that before it’s too late for Greenlee to forgive him. She urges Jack to be there for his daughter and her baby.

Greenlee goes to talk to Dr. Madden and has him run all the tests and do everything he can do to make sure her baby is healthy. She realizes that he has good reason to be angry with her and not want to help her after she so recently robbed his bank. He tells her he’s past that and wants to help her. He tells her that she has something in common with him. She apologizes for stealing his samples. He says he knows that she was determined to stop at nothing in order to have Ryan’s baby. He says he understands she was willing to go to great risks. That’s what he deals with every day in his clinic. And he tells her he and his wife had a real problem conceiving also. He has the woman who almost got Greenlee arrested the last time she was there do her blood work for her. She promises Dr. Madden that she will do whatever he advises so that hers and Ryan’s baby can be ok. He seems to really want to help her and give her first-rate care. I guess he’s doing it for Erica. She tells Josh she’s surprised at how nice his father has suddenly become. And Josh reveals to Erica that his daddy has a crush on her. She seems to remember that she knows she's met his father somewhere before. Dr. Madden runs the ultrasound. Greenlee and Simone get to see the tiny embryo and watch the heart-beat and everything forming in the new life. And they cherish the memory of Ryan as they watch. Jack goes to surprise Greenlee and visit her. He acts positive. But Dr. Madden gets what looks to be some bad news.

While on the run, Ryan stops at a coffee shop and gets friendly with a waitress. He wears a hat and dark glasses and uses another name. But he seems very trusting of her. He tells her he’s looking for his cousin. He shows her the picture of his sister, Erin. The waitress remembers Erin stopping in after having car trouble and that she was headed to Canada. He seems to like this waitress and she likes him. She notices his wedding ring. He assures her he’s no longer “taken”. She says it’s his wife’s loss. He wonders what to do with his wedding ring and he gets rid of it. He goes over to some person who looks homeless and/or down on their luck and tells them they probably need it more than he does.
