All My Children Update for Monday, 8-Aug-2005

JR barges into Babe and Jamie’s home, assuming that Jamie must have ruined the brakes on Dixie’s car in order to kill them when they were in her car. Jamie tells JR he better get out of his home and stop making accusations. Dixie runs in and tells JR that there is no proof that Jamie intentionally messed with the breaks and he cannot accuse him of anything. But JR is determined that he knows that Jamie is trying to kill him and Dixie.

Ryan checks into a motel. As he stands by himself, he remembers being in a similar joint, in the rain with Greenlee before they were married. He remembers her offering to sleep on the couch. He remembers the awkwardness of the two of them being in that place together as “friends” not knowing if they should undress and get out of their wet clothes.

Greenlee discovers that she might be having problems with her baby. She might be miscarrying. Kendall tells her that everything can be ok. If they are both calm, everything can work out.

JR confronts Jamie. Babe asks what he is accusing Jamie of. JR tells them that the brakes on Dixie’s car went out when he was driving in the rain. Dixie and Babe both tell them that Jamie did not attempt to murder them. JR tells Jamie he is an attempted murderer. He asks if Jamie if he is threatened because he stood between Jamie and his stethoscope. Jamie tells JR that if he wanted to kill him, he’d have found an easier way and done it long ago. JR asks Babe if she is behind this. They obviously both have motives to want him dead.

Greenlee calls Dr. Madden. Kendall grabs the phone and identifies herself. She apologizes for the late phone call but she explains that Greenlee Lavery has some concerns. He tells the two of them there is no point in their going out to the hospital in the rain and he offers to come by the house instead. While waiting Kendall suggests going on the Internet to find out what might be happening in Greenlee’s pregnancy. Greenlee gets out her laptop and reveals to Kendall that she doesn’t need electricity or phone lines to connect. And it’s Ryan’s idea to have gotten the modern technology for them.

Ryan is right then, in his motel room looking for his sister.

On the computer, Kendall is making jokes with Greenlee about getting fat during her pregnancy. Greenlee pretends the bag of sugar is her baby. Kendall finds a website with questions about spotting during pregnancy. She concludes that spotting is normal. Hearing that, Greenlee is very relieved to know that she is ok. She tells that to her baby.

Aiden is with.

Danielle enters the apartment where her mother and Garette live. Mimi tells her daughter she’s she can tell that her intent for coming by is not to see them. It’s to see somebody else who lives in the building.(Reggie) But right then, Mimi gets a call and has to leave. Dani tells them she will just go back to her dad’s. When Mimi leaves, Garette tells Danielle he’d like to talk to her. She tells him she’s just remembered she has some work to do for Fusion. So whatever he has to say, he needs to say it quick. He asks her what he needs to do in order to make her like him.

Julia tells Zach she lives in a continual nightmare, having to be on the run. She has gone by so many false names. She’s had so many odd jobs. She tells him she’s been alive but has not had a life. That was taken from her the day she witnessed the shooting. That’s the way she’s lived for 9 pathetic years. But it ends here. She tells him she will not live like this for another second. And unless he gives back to her her life, her husband and her world, she does not want to talk to him. He tells her he does not want to hurt anybody. And he asks her if she does.

While trying to find his sister, Ryan keeps getting distracted with the memories he’s had of him and Greenlee that night they spent in a motel room in the rain. He screams at that “thing” inside his head to FOCUS on finding his sister. But it WON’T let him forget that memory he had with Greenlee. He again yells at the memory to STOP thinking about her.

Kendall and Greenlee talk about making their own “chick flick”. Kendall says that they are in their convertible listening to cheesy music. And they run into some bikers in a bar. Greenlee then laughs. But Kendall is concerned about her holding onto something near her belly. Right then, Dr. Madden comes by. Greenlee tells him that she apologizes and tells him she believes she’s worried for nothing. But there is something he knows that they do not. He tells Greenlee that since he’s come all this way, he’d like to just make certain everything is ok. Greenlee goes with him.

After hearing Dixie defend Jamie, JR demands to know how she can take his side over that of her own son. She tells him that she loves him but also loves Jamie and does not believe he did anything intentionally wrong with the brakes. Babe and Jamie tell JR that he would blame Jamie for anything. Dixie tells JR that he needs to think about where they just were. Babe and Jamie hear her reveal that they just got back from the cabin where his son was born. She tells him it’s time for him to let go of all of the anger. She asks what is really going on with him.

Alone with Garette, Dani tells him she does not hate him. She just doesn’t care one way or another. She realizes he is going to marry her mother. She can’t change that. So what does it matter if she is on board with that or not? He just tells her that he wishes she would get along better with her mother.

Julia holds the gun on Zach and tells him she does not trust him. He tells her he realizes she has difficulty trusting but he will not betray her. Right then, they hear voices from outside. She leaves and makes herself scarce. It looks like there are cops. They hold a gun on Zach and yells at him to freeze. Zach gets a closer look and sees that it’s Mimi and Derek Frey.

Ryan views himself in the mirror and tells “the old Ryan” that he’s gone and is never coming back. He then gets out a buzz cut razor and chops off all his hair.

At Wildwind, Mimi and Derek tell Zach that they must investigate this place whether he likes it or not. She assumes that Julia might be dead. But neither of them can find Julia as she is hidden.

Garette tells Danielle that he can see that sometimes she appears very confident. But then a very small thing will set her off and make her insecure. He tells her he fell in love with her mother the first time she walked into his life. She tells him he must be a major player, as a businessman, hanging with the mayor and the big boys. He admits that he does that. But it’s not the same as real friendship. He admits that he many times finds it empty, boring and depressing. He tells her that he is very excited about marrying her mother and having friends and family. She reminds him that she already has a father. He tells her he does not want to replace Derek. But he’d like to be her friend. He asks if she has any “openings” in the friendship department.

After hearing JR call him “spiteful, selfish and malicious”, Jamie asks JR how he can use those words. Isn’t JR talking about himself? JR tells them he knows that they could have a better life if he died. And if they fail to get Dixie to “pull his strings” for them, then what good is she? And why not kill her? But Dixie tells them all that they should think about when Babe and Bianca gave birth. Jamie and JR were really close then. They have been throughout their lives. Babe tells them that they should listen to Dixie. But neither of the guys want to listen. Jamie tells JR he better leave or he will call the cops.

Zach lets Derek and Mimi look around but tells them they must realize there is no sign of life. Derek gets a call on his beeper. Mimi tells Zach that she plans to buy this place. So he better get the hell off her property.

Garette tells Dani that he would appreciate her help in looking at the present that he got for her mom. He shows her a picture in a magazine. She says it’s ok. She admits that she believes that it’s a generic gift for a generic fiancé. But there are other types of gifts you can get for a special woman. She tells him if he wants to impress her mom, he has to think like her mom. He asks her if she play backgammon. He gets out the board to play. She tells him that maybe she should suck it up and play maid of honor. He tells her that’s cool with him and now she may prepare to be beaten at backgammon.

Ryan lies in his motel bed and has visions of entering his house, seeing Kendall and asking where Greenlee is. Zach appears. They both ignore him. He keeps asking where Greenlee is. But he gets no answers. Kendall smirks. She seems to have a secret with Zach. They play black jack and turn his house into a casino. Greenlee then enters and tells him he broke her heart. She loved him more than anyone or anything and asks how he could do what he did. He tells her he’s sorry her hurt her but he had no choice. HE could not live like that. He did it to save her. And he awakes to hear Greenlee’s voice telling him that he betrayed her. He then sees himself in a coffin, at his funeral. Greenlee and Erin are standing over the casket talking about how Ryan has abandoned his wife and his sister. Erin talks about Ryan going to heaven. But Jonathan appears and reminds her that Laverys do not go to heaven.

Dr. Madden tells Greenlee that she needs care that he cannot give her and he must get her to the hospital. She fights it. But Kendall tells her that even if they are worrying for nothing, why not just make absolutely certain that everything is ok. Greenlee panics and tells them she’s taken the prenatal vitamins, read everything and done everything she was supposed to do. And right then, she keels over in pain, just like she is losing the baby right now.

Derek takes his “call” and finds that JR called him. He asks JR how many times he’s asked him to lose his number. JR says he wants to report attempted murder. Jamie tells Derek he’d like JR arrested for trespassing. Derek goes out with the two of them to talk. Alone with Dixie, Babe tells her that she is so sorry that this has had to happen. It looks like JR and Jamie will never reconcile. Dixie says she’s worried also. But they mustn’t give up. The must keep fighting. But Babe tells her that it’s all over now. And she now knows what she has to do. She looks very depressed.

Zach returns to find Julia. She tells him the fact that he did not turn her over to the cops is a really confusing concept for her. She asks him who he really is. He tells her he is the man who will give her back her life.

Ryan gets up and attempts to find Erin Lavery in Nova Scotia, on his laptop. And right away, he finds her right there.

Greenlee is on the floor crying and in pain. Dr. Madden and Kendall tell her she must get to the hospital. But she is afraid that they cannot do that. Dr. Madden carries her out the door.
