All My Children Update for Thursday, 11-Aug-2005

Jack tells Kendall that he needs her to stop encouraging Greenlee to hang onto memories of her deceased husband and wanting to have another baby when there is medical evidence that she cannot. He tells her that it is not healthy for his daughter to refuse to move on after losing Ryan and the baby. But Kendall is adamont that Greenlee needs to have hope and she knows it will not benefit her to forget Ryan or give up on having their baby. Jack asks if Kendall thinks it would be beneficial for Greenlee to carry around pictures of a dead man for the rest of her life. Should she keep a lock of his hair? SHould she talk to Ryan's ghost on a wee-jee(I have NO CLUE how it's spelled) board? He tells her if Greenlee lives her life that way, then she'd have been better off going off that cliff with Ryan.

Kendall asks Dr. Madden if there is any way he can help Greenlee have a baby. She says she knows that Greenlee cannot carry another pregnancy. But since he is the fertility king, he must know of a way around that. He tells her he does.

Ryan is in Nova Scotia at a restaurant observing his sister Erin at her job as a waitress. He notices how happy and unaffected she seems to be by the family they grew up in. He also assumes that she has no clue who he is when she sees him. He finds a way to track down her address and spies outside her door. But she comes out, reveals that she knows he's Ryan and seems to know what he's up to.

When JR is talking to Erica about his failed attempt to get Kendall to divorce Zach, Josh enters. Remembering that Josh witnessed Babe tie him up, JR tells Josh he must testify against her and prove her an unfit mother. Josh says he refuses to do anything to hurt Babe. ERica tells Josh he should. She informs him for the first time that Babe is a kidnapper. SHe took Bianca's baby daughter Miranda from her and had Bianca believing she died. She also kept JR's son from him and JR believed he also died. Josh says if he was subpoenad to testify against Babe, he'd remember that Greenlee also broke the law by stealing from his father's clinic. She tells him that is totally different. Babe is trash and he cannot let her off the hook. But Josh tells Erica that is a double-standard. You cannot say breaking the law should be overlooked in one case, but punished in another. She reminds him that she is his boss. In response to that, he tells her that when he's on her time, he is all hers. But when he's on his own time, his life is his own and he will make his own decisions. And when JR demands she fires Josh for failing to do what he wants, Erica tells JR she has no intention of firing Josh. ANd she tells JR he needs to do his own dirty work without help from her or Josh.

Babe tells her mother that she will not let Jamie be prevented from having Phoebe's money and going to med school. But JR has made it impossible. Dixie has not been able to pull JR's head out of his butt. JR tells her the only way for Jamie to get Phoebe's "conditional" benefits from her Will is if Jamie willfully breaks up with Babe. Both Babe and Krystal know that getting him to do that is near to impossible. He loves her and will never abandon her. Krystal suggests to her daughter that maybe she should accept the choice that Jamie is making to be with her and give up the money and med school. BUt Babe says she cannot do that. ANd she knows of one drastic plan she can put into motion to enable Jamie to break up with her. They both know that this is not something they want to do. But Babe says it's the only way. She goes to find Josh and asks him to have sex with her.

Julia tells Zach that she will no longer hide and have any more false identities. Even if he can help her have better choices than the government can offer her, she no longer wants to live a lie. She wants the life of Julia, regardless of the cost.
