Diplomacy is like that, and it's worse(?) among "friends."
President Biden has done a lot of "I didn't see that one coming" things domestically - UAW, some of the specific items that "sneaked" into the IRA that most people don't know are in there but they benefit...back to Democrats SUCK at messaging..., and other "quiet victories."
Many people protesting or complaining about President Biden are benefactors of his actions, but they are complaining because they aren't seeing it coming and because he's not a bombastic person a la FPOTUS Trump who brags about things he's done nothing to help and may have actively worked against, like most of the Republicans in office.
