It's not really a buyout, because it essentially says your supervisors can decide you need to WFH until September OR that your position can be eliminated before then (despite claiming you won't be fired). He almost certainly doesn't have the authority to do this, and as Musk showed with Twitter, such an offer can't be trusted. Whatever you decide to do - don't do this.
