-=- unless that's a raw deal within their own country. Americans GENERALLY have a raw deal, compared to the rest of the world, in terms of what the government provides them in social services and worker protections.
But if the deal is between the US and another country? Doubt that it's actually a raw deal. You guys always have the better position.
Trade-wise the big issue for Americans is this: Canada provides the US with raw materials they use to build and grow things. Much of which you can't get elsewhere and definitely can't get domestically.
The US, on the other hand, provides Canada with a lot of finished goods. Which we CAN get elsewhere, as much as it might be cheapest to get it from you.
I'm not sure Trump understood this because he has put the entire country into a weak negotiating position and you NEVER have been before. Right now, you are untrustworthy as allies and trading partners. That was never the case before. You were maybe kinda difficult and not SUPER fair. But you did what you said you were going to. To your G7 nation allies, if no one else.
So much for that. Just one more way Trump is taking the US back to the 30s.
