Regarding states on my 50 list... it is kind of complicated. Since me and the hubby are doing it together it does not count if I have been to a state, and he has not or vice versa... or if we have both been there but not together.

So... while one or both of us have been to the following states... we still have to go to these states together:

Alaska
Arkansas *
California *
Delaware
Iowa
Kansas
Maryland *
Michigan
Minnesota
Missouri
Nebraska
New Jersey
New Mexico *
North Dakota
Ohio
Oklahoma *
Oregon
Pennsylvania *
South Dakota
Virginia *
Washington
West Virginia *
Wisconsin

The ones with asterisks one or both of us have visited... but not together so it doesn't count.

I am hopeful that we can make a long weekend trips sometime this year to visit:

Arkansas and Missouri
Virginia and West Virginia

We are planning to go to the Oregon coast in 2025 and take day trips into northern California and Washington state.

When we have time, we could in a week get to Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia... and DC for good measure.

That is going to leave bigger states down the middle of the country that will be hard to drive too or drive through quickly... and Alaska. Truthfully, we may do Alaska sooner that the others because I (apologies to those who may live there) lack motivation to visit the Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Oklahoma. But eventually we will. Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin I think of as cold... but I think I could find things to do in each of those states that would interest me.
