your grown niece or nephew about your mom or dad (their grandma or grandpa), do you say "Mom/Dad" or "Grandma/Grandpa"?

Lately I've been wondering which to use when talking to my niblings. When they were younger, to avoid confusion, I would always use "Grandpa" when talking about something (my) Dad said or did. But now that they're all well into adulthood, I find I go back and forth between saying "Dad" and "Grandpa". I'm currently leaning towards "Dad"; saying "Grandpa" makes me feel like I'm talking to a youngster instead of someone pushing 40.
