Did everyone have a good weekend? How is your workweek looking? will it be busy or slow? Any vacation time planned?

Had a fun weekend. Went to happy hour at our fave place on Friday. Met a few of our friends who we haven't seen in awhile because we were in FL. So it was fun catching up with everyone. Saturday we went to a local bar to see a friend's band play. They suck, but we knew that going in, lol. Just wanted to support our friend. And also check out a new (to us, the bar's been there forever) place near us. Hubby had the best cheese steak he's had in a long time, so he was happy despite the bad music. And then Sunday we watched football with our oldest daughter and I made a yummy dinner. And then while cleaning up......have you seen the State Farm Ludacris commercial? [link] Yeah it was like that with the spraying water (but no floods). Luckily hubby was able to fix it this morning. Which is good because I'm going to be cooking (and then cleaning up after) all week. I need my sink to work!

That sounds like a good time at the bar - what nice friends you are to show support. I was VERY worried about you and the sink when I heard. I mean, i know you pre-cook a lot of stuff, but one NEEDS THE SINK. LOL I'm so glad your husband was able to fix it.

It's the unofficial / official start of the HOLIDAY SEASON, people!!

Yay! We're Jewish, but I love Christmas time! I don't decorate, but I *do* watch as many Hallmark movies as I can.

ahhhhh I love the Hallmark movies!! you laugh, you cry, you get the holiday feeeeeeels!!!!!

Are you traveling? Staying home?

I always host Thanksgiving. It's a small one this year, only 11 of us. Almost as small as 2020/Covid. I always do a lot of prep way ahead of time and I re-use my lists from prior years, so it all goes like clockwork. And at the end of the day on Thursday I will still be exhausted and declare that I'm never doing this again! (I lie).

Your lists are epic and I love them. I also have enjoyed watching the pre-cooking! i know you feel like a stuffing machine, but man does it all look SO! GOOD!

Making your lists and checking them twice?

We only exchange Christmas gifts with our neighbors and it's always so stressful for me. Only because they are such great gift givers and I struggle to find the perfect gift for them every year. It's also the husband's birthday on the 23rd, so we have to figure out a b-day gift as well. It's hard because they can basically buy themselves anything they need. And also as we get older.....do we need more stuff? I have two cool ornaments for their tree. And I found a couple of neat older photos of them having fun with us that I'm going to print and frame.

I actually think that is a GREAT idea!! i love framed pictures. it's so personal and honestly, our friends probably have a lot better photos of us than we have - and we've likely never seen them!

Gearing up for any Black Friday sales or events?

God no. I will be putting my house back together on Friday (and probably all weekend). You couldn't pay me to go shopping on BF.

I used to work retail, so I'm with you - NO BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING.

Have your shopping cart stacked on Amazon ahead of Cyber Monday?

Nope.

LOL

Are you decorating this weekend? Is your tree up already? I'm jealous if it is.

I wish! When my oldest was around 2 1/2 I used to drive the long way home from the babysitter's house so we could see the houses with pretty lights on them. She asked me if the next house we buy could have Christmas lights on it. LOL, she thought they came that way! So I explained how it all worked and that we celebrate Hannukah, not Christmas, etc. And I assured her that if we *did* celebrate Christmas we'd have one of those houses that people drive out of their way to see. 😂🎄

omg, that is hilarious!!! i mean...i kind of wish my house came pre-decorated because that is HARD! we actually do mostly the bushes and the windows, because i'm not getting up on a ladder to hang clips on my gutters THEN the lights.

we drove by a house that ran out of icicle lights, so they went out to grab a box and...it does not match. they hid it on the side of the house, but......

it's like last year when the new neighbors put icicle lights up on PART of their front porch and they had 3 different colors. Warm white, LED white (the blueish ones) and one set of color. I was losing my mind looking at it every night. LOL
