I did read Constance Wu's last year and liked it. I think I'm reading burn out again for memoirs as so many dropped this fall, but I will add her to my never ending to read list :)
Ooh, that sounds interesting. I like alternate histories.
Binet is always a good read, but at times, being French (the English translation is good though!), can be a bit of a demand.
Box Office Poison: Hollywood’s Story in a Century of Flops by Tim Robey B A collection of many of Hollywood’s box office bombs. I always enjoy reading about these types of failures.
I need to find this one, it sounds right up my alley!
I read a similar one earlier this year, Fiasco, from 2003...this one is more up to date because it ends with Cats! It's fun.
The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson C+ This was supposed to be a real story! At times some horrible writing with weird exclamation points! I ended up skimming a lot of it! (Yes, I did the exclamation points on purpose!)
LOL. Since most of it has been debunked as total garbage I'm not surprised the book wasn't good. The actual DeFeo murders story is so sad but definitely a better story than the made up crap those hucksters put out.
I'd probably find the debunking more interesting than this book, lol. I did a bit of Wiki reading after it to find out all the details. It was better than the book. Haven't seen any of the movies though.
As for my list, I got nothing. I have a stack of books on my nightstand but for the most part I just scroll tiktok when I get in bed. I've been carrying around The Great Gatsby for probably a month and keep saying I'm going to read it - I have seen the movie and saw the musical in June so I thought hey maybe I'll read the book finally and I just can't even get myself started.
Soooo I'm not a huge fan of Fitzgerald/Gatsby (I actually fell asleep in the theatre for the Baz Luhrmann adaptation, and he's one of my fave directors!), but most people love it, so I'm sure you will too. No rush on getting around to it though...books have a habit of coming to us at the right time, so whenever it's the right time you'll read it. :)
