I haven't actually seen the Baz Luhrmann version!

Soooo I'm not a huge fan of Fitzgerald/Gatsby (I actually fell asleep in the theatre for the Baz Luhrmann adaptation, and he's one of my fave directors!), but most people love it, so I'm sure you will too. No rush on getting around to it though...books have a habit of coming to us at the right time, so whenever it's the right time you'll read it. :)

I've only seen the old-school Robert Redford one. The musical was pretty good, I liked Daisy more in that one than in the Redford movie.

I like to think I'm well read, but honestly I have not read a LOT of the classics. Fitzgerald, Austen, Hemingway, etc. I was just never very interested. Though I did have to read Mary Shelley for a class and though I thought I'd hate it, I loved Frankenstein. I should read that again. I thought it would be hard to slog through so I had made a copy of a book on tape and then ended up not even listening, lol.
