I didn’t dislike any of the final four as people but I think Rachel, by far, deserved to win. She played a great game, a much better game than the others. IMO, Sam didn’t deserve to win any more than Teeny or Sue. He was never any more of a threat than Sue or Teeny. Sam did amuse me by trying new foods (like pineapple, kiwi and watermelon) while on Survivor. LOL, what are the odds of broadening your food experience while on Survivor? 🍍🥝🍉
I was surprised that Kyle voted for Sam. His reason seemed to be more that he really likes Sam more than he thought Sam deserved to win. I’m guessing that Kyle knew that Rachel was going to win and he voted Sam to insure that Sam would get the second place money. Sue seemed gracious and just happy to have had the opportunity to show that a 58 year old can have the stamina for the challenges and being out there for 26 days.
I liked Kyle a lot but felt like he was a smidge dismissive of Rachel matching his 4 individual immunity wins. I felt bad for Teeny because of the way she just missed final three. But she had no chance of winning the million. Still, losing the fire challenge via the luck of the wind had to be so disappointing. I would have preferred Rachel to refrain from coaching/cheering Teeny during the fire building though.
The finale was anticlimactic once Rachel won her fourth individual immunity. It was hard for the editors to create any drama after that. But I’m happy that she won.
ETA: If Sam was being truthful about never practicing fire, before or during his stint on Survivor, I think that is pretty dumb. At 47 seasons in, I don’t understand anyone who gets to play on Survivor not making sure that they can make fire before they even get there.
