..that I saw in the lawsuit was the memo of how to promote the movie. The company - so Justin's production company and the author - did not want the domestic violence angle focused on, nor did they want any promo to be "sad and heavy". Which didn't leave Blake with a ton of choices. Because they didn't want to focus on the love story or love triangle either. Leaving Blake to awkwardly have a focus on her character being a florist. I'm not that surprised re: the author, but Justin and co KNEW this memo existed when they chose to spread so much crap. Blake maybe still could have done better, lol, because the result was a **** show, but it's not like this was HER choice.
I'm still not over the list of things he did onset, though. Offering to set up a prompt visit to a doctor on retainer when she got strep, only to send her to a weightloss doctor??? Going into her trailer "crying" about how the internet thought she was old and unattractive???? What really grosses me out there is Justin knew damn well he had seriously crossed a line in how he attacked her for her weight (a new mother who was still breastfeeding), and he chose to act like this was all about him being nervous to lift her because of a back injury. That sounds like it was the least of Blake's problems. And I WAS suspicious about that leak, actually - it seemed petty, on brand for this PR team (who I remember well from their work with Johnny Depp). But I couldn't have guessed Justin had actually gone this far to make her feel bad about her weight.
There's even the whole thing about him saying he was talking to her dead father (honestly, WHAT) and the horrid story about how she was denied regular lactation breaks to either feed or pump to the point where she developed mastisis. This is Blake Lively! What happens to the actresses - 99% of them - who don't have her star recognition or power?
I don't love Blake. Part of me wants to ask her if she'd like to rethink her position on praising Woody Allen - how does it feel to be undermined and dismissed? But I am alarmed that a C-lister like Justin was able to so effectively attack a woman more powerful than he is, which is a rare thing in Hollywood, for the woman to have more power. And seeing the PR spin in action, in all its gross detail, is really hard to swallow. Having two women make it clear they know what he is (talking about how "lucky" he is, how he's known for whispering sexually inappropriate things to women, mentioning other reports from unrelated women about his terrible treatment of them - this is HIS team!) and kind of gleefully just go for it anyway...I wanted to take a shower in bleach after reading some of those texts.
