that cilantro really does taste like soap to some people. I love cilantro--I could eat a salad of just cilantro and some dressing--but my one co-worker, decades ago, did not. She claimed it tasted like soap and I lightly chided her, telling her it was OK to not like cilantro but a bit harsh to claim it tasted like soap. And then I found out that's really what cilantro tastes like to some people. Sandy was long gone from the bindery by then so I couldn't even apologize to her for accusing her of making up something about cilantro.
