Broadway has some very hot tickets this season and this is one of them. We got tix early so we got good orchestra seats for “only” $100. The same seats are going for $300 now thanks to evil surge pricing (like airline tix). The price goes up as there are fewer seats left. This is a limited run starring an ensemble of well-known actors: Kieran Culkin (fresh off his Oscar win for A Real Pain and his Emmy win for Succession), Bob Odenkirk (best known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Bill Burr, Michael McKean and others).

Also, this production is not selling discounted tix in any of the usual ways (like TDF, TKTS, lottery or rush)). The only thing they are doing is making ten standing room tix available on some days for, I think, $49. But they are hard to get. I hate what has happened to the price of theatre, especially Broadway. But I love theatre. I can’t go as often anymore.

Here’s a brief summary of the play if you don’t know it from previous productions and/or the movie:
“David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Glengarry Glen Ross, is a scathing critique of American capitalism and the desperate measures people take to succeed. The play centers on four Chicago real estate agents, Levene, Roma, Moss, and Aaronow, and their supervisor, Williamson, as they compete to sell undesirable properties at inflated prices. The story takes place over two days during a sales contest where the top seller wins a Cadillac and the bottom two are fired.”

I know, I know. Mamet. But this is a great play with a great cast.
