...mostly because I have a secret day off tomorrow and shopping for docking stations/monitors was not in the cards.

so it's been a few hours, and i am definitely leaning towards the docking station and 1 curved monitor. I actually think that will be cheaper than a new tower that might not work with my old monitors. and you know, I don't think i need two computers, the laptop is 1 year old and i splurged, so it's a good one.

but the monitor won't be cheap, so my math is probably way off.
