Disney movies on VHS that had the black diamond logo with the words "the classics" on the spine were worth thousands? You can still go to eBay and find hundreds of people listing these tapes for anywhere from $1,000-$10,000...for a SINGLE videotape. I still have a storage cabinet filled with a mix of VHS tapes and DVDs; three of my Disney VHS movies--Aladdin, The Jungle Book and 101 Dalmatians--have the "coveted" black diamond. In reality, nobody is paying more than $20 for one of these tapes, and that's usually only if the package is still sealed.
My...I mean DAD'S...HoJo cup and saucer are both in near pristine condition. No cracks, no chips, maybe a little bit of a stain on the bottom (outside, not inside). I mentioned this thread to Dad and he corrected me--HE was the cup thief, not Mom. I asked if it was at least the very cup she used to serve him coffee in when he was trying to persuade her to marry him. He said "maybe". Apparently he just stole it from the dishrack at the restaurant 😂 However, he *did* used to wash dishes at HoJo--for free, since he wasn't employed there--when Mom was working, mainly because she mostly closed and nobody was allowed to leave until all the dishes were done. He washed dishes so they could all get out a bit earlier and he'd have more time to spend with Mom 💕
